Assessment of Community-Based Tourism Potential and Inventory in Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District, Akwa Ibom State

The study aimed to carryout inventory and maps the distribution of community-based tourism attractions in Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District Akwa Ibom State. was descriptive nature adopted purposive sampling method select ten (10) communities for study. were drawn at least one from each Local Government Areas. Data obtained through questionnaire forms, interviews, focus group discussions personal observations. forms administered a total four hundred (400) respondents who randomly selected among communities. result shows that potential are decaying local community due ignorance on benefits lack involvement participation activities. However, new /attractions discovered during inventory. We concluded if well managed restructured is functional tool driving sustainable development. Therefore, it recommended should effectively participate be involved related activities they integrated decision-making management industry aid sustainability development district.
